The Malibu Gold showing is located on the south side of Queen’s Reach on upper Jervis Inlet, approximately 75 kilometres north of Sechelt.

The area is underlain by a variety of Jurassic to Tertiary granitic intrusives of the Coast Plutonic Complex. Coast Range intrusive rocks are typically medium-grained, equigranular homogeneous plutons of dioritic to granodioritic composition. The granitic rocks intrude and metamorphose Jurassic to Lower Cretaceous argillaceous sediments and andesitic to felsic volcanics of the Gambier Group.

Locally, a small plug of fine- grained hornblende diorite intrudes dark grey limy argillite of the Gambier Group.

The property has two, known, historic adits dating back to the early 1900’s. In the 1940’s, at least four shafts, up to 6 metres long were completed on the Churchill V, Four-Leaf Clover and Reynoldstown claims. The exact location of these workings is unknown. In 1983, Laird Exploration Ltd. explored the area. The property was sold by Laird Exploration Ltd. to Oriole Resources Ltd. in 1988. A work program consisting of geological mapping, rock sampling, and a soil geochemical survey was completed the same year. In 2008 and 2009, the showings were explored as part of the Malibu Gold property of Flex Fuels Energy Inc.

At the No. l adit, the diorite plug is fault bounded to argillite. The contact is strongly silicified and weakly pyritized with minor chalcopyrite across 0.3 metres to 0.5 metres in width. The contact is well defined within the No. l adit, striking at approximately 250 to 260 degrees with a pronounced southerly dip of about 70 degrees. In 1988, sampling of the adit returned 2.5 grams per tonne gold (Assessment Report 31100).

The no. 2 adit is driven, for 2 metres, on a shallowly dipping 0.30 to 1.30 metre wide quartz vein with arsenopyrite, minor pyrite, chalcopyrite and native gold. The vein pinches and swells along 50 metres of shoreline. In 1983, sampling of the vein returned 22.5 grams per tonne gold (Assessment Report 31100).
